This is my first time to Manitoulin Island in Northern Ontario. What a fantastic place!

One of the best times of the year to visit is the autumn when the leaves are changing
The beginning of autumn leaves at Manitoulin Island, Canada in late September
The changing leaves are spectacular
Local farms on Manitoulin are surrounded by the changing colours
Some leaves look as if they are on fire. The countryside is criss-crossed with zig-zag split rail fences made from local timbers
There are wonderful sunrises in the morning
Morning autumn leaves around the lake. A cottage wharf, shown in the foreground, will be brought on-shore before the lake freezes over for winter
And the colours are brilliant in the afternoon sun along the lakes edge
So many scenes….thank god for digital cameras!
