The Northern Rivers lost a major figure in aviation today in an aircraft accident at Lismore Airport.
Wayne Fisher has been a great supporter of the Great Eastern Fly-In and the Evans Head Memorial Aerodrome for many years.
Well-known for his expertise in ultralights, Wayne’s skill and knowledge was often shown in his ultralight displays at the Great Eastern Fly-In. There was no-one more passionate about flying than Wayne.
We are all shocked to learn of his untimely death and express our condolences to his family.
His contribution to aviation and to the protection of Evans Head Memorial Aerodrome for aviation has been significant. We will miss him.
